This is Saltmarsh Films

This is an entirely new endeavour created by curious minds and open hearts. We are a duo that embraces new beginnings as if our lives depended on the very notion of flipping to a fresh chapter in a timeless book of human experience.

To introduce ourselves, I’ll go first. My name is Bethany, I am a professional writer who has dedicated much of my time to helping other people tell their stories. Tom is sitting next to me, convinced of his position to stay out of the spotlight, but you will notice his impeccable music and his dutiful discernment in sound design.

You might be wondering where the name came from. For that, there’s a story.

At one point in our lives, we were forced to make a tough decision to move away from a space that was difficult on numerous levels. We were graciously taken in by a family who lived next to a saltmarsh. The saltmarsh became a place of introspection, of healing, of grounding. The landscape seemed to hold time at a standstill, where every emotion could wash in and out with the tides.

It became the name of our band, so it felt fitting to name our new adventure of film and photography, Saltmarsh Films.

We are immensely grateful that you are here reading this. And we hope every video, every photo, and every song, helps you feel connected to a place of belonging.
